Ctrip announced to its ticketing agents that it will no longer let agents sell domestic flight tickets on the platform. The decision was effective from June 17 and applicable to tickets scheduled to fly on and after September 1.
China Eastern Airlines reopened its flagship store on Qunar on June 14, just one day after a similar move by Air China. The booking aggregator’s current listings also include China Eastern’s code-share flights operated by China Southern Airlines.
Eight airline companies including Air China, China Southern, China Eastern, Hainan Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Xiamen Air and Shandong Airlines, have decided to replace commission and rebate for domestic flights with a temporary agent-fee policy.
