Travel search site Kayak saw its share of the travel website marketplace increase last week despite coming under heavy criticism for its decision to pull an ad from a US TV show.
The company was on the back-foot most of last week, and saw its chief marketing officer and CEO attempt to explain its actions in mea culpa-type blog posts, but so far not felt any impact on the brand’s popularity in terms of overall traffic share.
In fact, Kayak increased its market share by almost 0.5% and moved up a spot in the list of leading travel websites in the US.
