Homewood Suites by Hilton is unveiling a “Suite Selection” program that will allow guests to view floorplans and room photos and choose where they’d like to stay. You’ll be able to check in online within 24 hours of arrival, see the exact room you’ve been assigned and change it if you want.

“We have not found anyone else (in the hotel industry) doing this,” Rebecca Wyatt, Homewood Suites senior vice president of brand management, tells me. She says extended-stay guests’ desire for “choice and control” prompted the program. Guests have definite ideas about “where they want to be,” she says; and it varies.

Suite Selection will launch in phases in 2007. At first, it’ll be available only to Hilton Diamond and Gold HHonors members and only at select Homewoods. But the plan is to have all hotels online by the end of 2007 and open up the view-a-floorplan-and-choose-a-room feature to anyone who completes a profile.
