Networking site WAYN.com has enhanced its offering by enabling its members to take full advantage of its communication tools, travel guide, trips and full search functionality which will let users find other members based on where they are. (7/9/2007)
According to the site, members can send unlimited messages in order to find lost friends, make new friends, or simply find out in advance the real flavour of an intended destination through chatting with a local or another member who has visited.
A release stated: “Previously, WAYN worked on a subscription model, but has now supplemented the membership package with added privacy preferences, more customisation, and more added extras. Additionally, both standard and paying members now benefit from complete control over the communications they receive from newsletters and site updates, to their new WAYN Alerts which will keep them updated on their friends and what they are up to.”
“The move to open interaction has been made to ensure WAYN members are not suffering from restrictions on connecting with the people they want to meet online and to help promote the strong growth WAYN has already seen in the last 12 months.”
Jerome Touze, CEO and Founder of WAYN said: “We are aware of the huge growth in social networking and the move towards online services from travel companies and we want to capitalise within the niche market we hold with WAYN. We want to ensure our members have all the tools at their disposal to meet new and old friends online and across continents without restriction. This will also provide us with unrivalled advertising opportunities given our ability to provide relevant content to our members based on their whereabouts.”
WAYN already boasts 8.4 million members worldwide.
