April 17, 2007: Travelport Ltd. on Tuesday said it has appointed Steve Barnhart chief executive officer of its Orbitz Worldwide online travel agency.
Barnhart, 45, has led Orbitz as president and chief financial officer since September. Orbitz competes with publicly traded online travel agencies Expedia Inc. and Priceline.com.
Travelport, which is formerly a unit of Cendant Corp, said in March that it plans to sell a portion of its ownership in Orbitz in an initial public offering.
