The Priceline Group has made another move into the restaurant booking world with a deal to buy AS Digital.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

AS Digital is an Australia-based provider of table and reservation management tools for restaurants.

The company will be integrated into the OpenTable division within Priceline.

In particular, AS will be used as a springboard for OpenTable into the Asia-Pacific region.
The 32-year-old company claims to have “seated” more than 250 million restaurant goers via some 2,500 partners around the world.

The core product is a service known as ResPAK, an off-the-shelf software suite which allows restaurants to manage their front-of-house operations and bookings.

CEO and president Darren Huston says:

“AS Digital is a pioneer in B2B software solutions for the restaurant industry, building a highly competitive brand in one of the fastest growing markets.

“This move extends the Group’s initiatives in digital and mobile commerce and accelerates our international efforts in online dining as we continue to scale this business.”

Huston co bought OpenTable for $2.6 billion in July 2015.

AS also powers a website known as BookARestaurant, giving existing technology customers access to consumer-facing distribution of tables.

Additional services that Priceline has now got its hands on include an events and meetings management system, as well as a ticketing and box office operations kit known as ResTIX.
