Ctrip quickly resolved a previous disruption of its hotel booking channel on Valentine’s Day. The temporary disrution was caused by a sudden surge in traffic and affected some Ctrip users.

Ctrip is still working to restore service to their website and app while searching for the cause of the disruption, investigating for data loss and saving booking data. By 15:00 service had still not been restored and Ctrip’s homepage placed a link directing users to the eLong website. It deeply apologizes to users for any inconvenience during the restoration process.

ChinaTravelNews has learned that LY.com had access to Ctrip’s hotel data and now its hotel booking service is also disabled while related products can still be booked.(Translation by David)
