Aeroplan has stated that Best Western International is the first hotel partner to offer a totally web-based redemptions through Aeroplan.com. (1/10/2007)
Aeroplan’s three car partners - Avis, Hertz and National - already offer completely web-based redemptions through Aeroplan.com.
According to the company, unlike other loyalty and travel programmes - which use a certificate-only or call centre-based booking process - Aeroplan enables its members to search Aeroplan.com for the Best Western property of their choice, make their booking online and receive an immediate confirmation of the booking from the hotel.
This hassle-free redemption method eliminates the need for vouchers and coupons and, because the process is immediate, there is no longer a need to book seven days in advance or call the hotel chain to make the reservation.
Also, there is an option to cancel reservations for a full refund of Aeroplan Miles in accordance with the reservation’s terms and conditions).
Aeroplan stated that with the addition of Best Western, Aeroplan has made even more options for online all-Aeroplan Mile travel (flight, car and hotel) available.
“No other loyalty programme in Canada offers this level of self-service options for booking travel rewards. This new functionality complements Aeroplan’s other hotel partners that offer certificate-based hotel redemptions via Aeroplan.com and using Aeroplan Miles,” it stated.
“Increasing the usability of Aeroplan Miles to create complete travel experiences and building flexible tools for members to book their own travel itinerary according to their needs are key components of Aeroplan’s member-focused reward strategy,” said Craig Landry, vice president – Marketing and Rewards, Aeroplan.
“A partner of Best Western’s scale means that we can immediately offer global hotel options - along with flights to more than 842 destinations worldwide and car rentals in North America and Europe - through our innovative web-based booking tool,” said Landry.
Aeroplan has also teamed with Best Western to introduce another reward option to its web site. For only 13,000 Aeroplan Miles, members can now redeem a $100 Best Western Travel Card.
