February 18, 2008: Orbitz entered a strategic long term partnership with Marriott for distribution of Marriott International guest rooms through its global portfolio of brands, including Orbitz, CheapTickets and Orbitz for Business in the Americas; ebookers in Europe and eventually in early 2008 through HotelClub, based in Asia Pacific with operations globally.
The contract enables Orbitz Worldwide’s customers more flexibility when planning stays at Marriott Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard, Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn & Suites, TownePlace Suites and SpringHill Suites..
“Our strategic distribution agreement with Marriott International represents an important distribution deal for our customers throughout the world,” said Peggy Bianco, vice president of global hotel supplier relations for Orbitz Worldwide. “This agreement will translate into more choice, more flexibility and more value for our mutual customers. Additionally, this relationship will help us to continue to grow our presence worldwide with our ebookers and HotelClub brands, respectively.”
Orbitz Worldwide customers, as part of the agreement, will benefit from having access to room inventory for individual hotel room sales and vacation packages at participating Marriott Hotels. Orbitz Worldwide customers have access to more than 80,000 lodging properties globally.
