The deliveries are scheduled mainly between 2028 and 2032.

On December 29, Spring Airlines and Juneyao Air each released announcements stating that they plan to purchase A320-family aircraft from Airbus.

According to the disclosures, the two carriers will order a combined 55 aircraft, with a total transaction value exceeding USD 8.2 billion. Deliveries are scheduled mainly between 2028 and 2032.

Specifically, Spring Airlines plans to acquire 30 Airbus A320neo aircraft, with a list price of USD 4.128 billion, while Juneyao Air intends to purchase 25 Airbus A320-family aircraft, with a list price of USD 4.1 billion.

According to information on Airbus’s official website, the A320neo has a maximum range of up to 3,400 nautical miles. Thanks to its new-generation, fuel-efficient engines, fuel burn and CO₂ emissions per seat are reduced by 20%, and the aircraft can accommodate up to 194 seats in a high-density cabin configuration.

In terms of fleet composition, both airlines already have extensive experience operating A320-family aircraft. Juneyao Air’s 2025 interim report shows that, as of the end of the first half of the year, the carrier operated 93 Airbus A320-family aircraft. Spring Airlines’ interim report indicates that it introduced four A320neo aircraft in the first half of 2025, bringing its total A320-family fleet to 133 aircraft by mid-year.

In July 2022, Airbus secured a major order for 292 A320neo-family aircraft from China’s three state-owned airline groups—Air China, China Southern Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines—with a total list value of USD 37.257 billion.

In April 2023, Airbus also announced that it had signed a bulk purchase agreement with China Aviation Supplies Holding Company (CAS), covering 160 Airbus commercial aircraft, including 150 A320-family aircraft and 10 A350-900 widebody jets, with a total value of approximately USD 20 billion.

In October this year, the second A320-family final assembly line at Airbus’s Tianjin facility officially commenced operations and is expected to be fully operational by early 2026. Airbus said that the addition of the new production line will support its goal of reaching a monthly production rate of 75 A320-family aircraft by 2027.
