The airport’s flight growth ranked first among all Chinese airports handling over 10 million passengers.

According to the “2025 Summer Travel Data Summary” released by Flight Master, Wenzhou Longwan Airport recorded a year-on-year flight increase of 11.8%, leading growth among all Chinese airports in the 10-million-passenger tier.

Notably, its intercontinental routes to Milan, Rome, and Madrid all achieved load factors exceeding 80%.

Wenzhou Longwan Airport is China’s first-ever crowdfunded airport.

During the 62-day summer travel season, the airport delivered record-breaking results:

* Passenger throughput exceeded 2.665 million.
* Passenger flights surpassed 18,000 takeoffs and landings.

Beyond numbers, the airport stood out for its focus on service details tailored to different traveler needs.

For the family-travel peak, dedicated security checkpoints were set up for children, with travelers under 17 increasing nearly 20% year-on-year, and young passengers from Sichuan and Guizhou surging over 30%.

To reduce friction for international passengers during the tax refund process, a new departure tax-refund counter was added at the T1 international terminal, boosting efficiency by 60%. After expanding the departure lounge, 30% more seats were installed, ensuring travelers with luggage no longer had to scramble for a place to sit.
