Air China will directly compete with Hainan Airlines on the route.

Air China announced the launch of a direct passenger route between Beijing and Toronto, Canada, starting May 20 this year:

*Two flights per week, operating on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

According to Air China's app, one-way fares start from RMB 6,480 (excluding taxes, about USD 888.6) for Beijing-Toronto, and from RMB 4,640 (excluding taxes, about USD 636) for Toronto-Beijing.

As reported by Simple Flying, this marks Air China's return to Toronto after a 33-year hiatus.

In 1992, Air China operated the Beijing-Shanghai-Vancouver-Toronto route using a Boeing 747.

The relaunch of this route signifies direct competition between Air China and Hainan Airlines on the Beijing-Toronto nonstop route.

Hainan Airlines began operating its Beijing-Toronto service on November 10, 2024, with one weekly flight on Sundays.
