Myanmar's Air Bagan and Cambodia's PMT Air improve global reach with Amadeus technology

Thursday, 27 September 2007: Amadeus, a leading global technology partner for the travel and tourism industry, today announced that Myanmar's Air Bagan and Cambodian airline PMT Air are now available on the Amadeus distribution system.

Thursday, 27 September 2007: Amadeus, a leading global technology partner for the travel and tourism industry, today announced that Myanmar´s Air Bagan and Cambodian airline PMT Air are now available on the Amadeus distribution system. The move will enable all travel agents and airline ticketing offices to access content and book flights on the two airlines via the Amadeus system.

Air Bagan is an airline based in Myanmar, and PMT Air (Progress Multitrade Co.,Ltd.) is a Cambodia-based airline. Both airlines offer regularly scheduled flights to domestic and key regional destinations.

Air Bagan and PMT Air join more than 500 airlines that already distribute their flights on the Amadeus system, which provides comprehensive coverage of close to 89.000 travel agency locations and more than 29.000 airline sales offices in 217 markets globally. This represents 95% of the world´s scheduled airline seats.

Gopi Bala, Air Bagan Senior Sales and Marketing Manager, said, "Myanmar is attracting an increasing number of travellers. In order to take full advantage of the booming tourism industry we need to broaden our reach within the global market. Through our new partnership with Amadeus, we can ensure that travellers can access tickets on our airline and make bookings with ease and convenience."

Myanmar attracts visitors from all over the world to see its many historic sites, particularly in Bagan with its 2,000 pagodas and temples. Cambodia is home to one of the great ancient temples of South-east Asia, the Angkor Wat, drawing in thousands of tourists annually.
