China Southern Airlines launches NDC sales on social e-commerce site Pinduoduo

Apart from ticket sales, China Southern Airlines plans to explore new business models in innovative products and joint marketing on Pinduoduo.

China Southern Airlines has officially launched its direct sales channel on social e-commerce giant Pinduoduo, according to local media reports

Pinduoduo users can now book air tickets of China Southern Airlines through the "recharge center" of Pinduoduo's mobile shopping app, and enjoy the same services as those who purchase on the official website of China Southern Airlines.

China Southern Airlines is the first airline company to cooperate with Pinduoduo in direct sales of tickets. The two parties will connect NDC airline distribution system to open up the direct channel of the airline, aiming to provide consumers with reliable air ticket products and quality services.

Apart from the sales of tickets, China Southern Airlines plans to explore new business models in innovative products and joint marketing on Pinduoduo in the future.

Pinduoduo said that they would continue to enhance cooperation with more airline companies to provide consumers with affordable and reliable air tickets and full-link travel services.

As reported by ChinaTravelNews earlier this year, NASDAQ-listed Pinduoduo started to add flight booking service in June, offering mostly domestic flight tickets at prices lower than those offered by Ctrip and airlines’ direct channels.

In August, Pinduoduo also ventured into hotel business with major Chinese hotelier Huazhu Group launching a flagship store and making its 2,000 hotels accessible to the social e-commerce platform’s 568.8 million monthly active users.
