Madrid, Spain, 10 July 2007: Amadeus, a global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, today announced that East Japan Railway, one of the leading railway lines in Japan, is now selling their passes on the Amadeus airline display, thanks to a global agreement with AccesRail and Amadeus. East Japan Railway can now provide international travellers the opportunity to purchase their rail pass in advance of travelling to Japan, while the travel agent builds the customer´s travel itinerary.
The East Japan Railways Pass is an economical and flexible rail pass available for international travellers to travel around Eastern Japan. It is valid for travel on all the 72 railway lines of JR East: Five Shinkansen Super Express Lines and sixty-seven Conventional Lines. The pass area includes Tokyo´s metropolitan rail system, as well as NEX – the Narita/Tokyo Express Train.
