SITA acquires MEXIA to further improve passenger management tech

MEXIA’s technology enables airports to predict where bottlenecks may arise across check-in, security and taxi lines.

Aviation technology specialist SITA has acquired MEXIA Interactive, a company that specializes in passenger analytics.

The acquisition of the Canada-based company is expected to improve SITA’s existing capabilities around airport passenger flow and queue management.

MEXIA’s technology enables airports to predict where bottlenecks may arise across check-in, security and taxi lines. Its systems also monitor how much time passengers spend in airports, which can help airports with operations but also aid retailers with shopper numbers, conversion rates and other trends.
