ITB China Conference Day 3: Education & Job Day creates new opportunities

More than 40 exhibitors in the fully booked Job Area – Fudan University Shanghai, Hong Kong Polytechnic University & HSMAI are exclusive partners – Conference program available online.

ITB China 2018 is in search of tomorrow’s talents: The third Conference Day, 18 May, is dedicated to the new area ‘Education and Job’. The Job Day takes plays throughout the day and consists of a dedicated area in Conference Room B with more than 40 companies, institutions and universities, such as Ctrip, JinJiang, Huazhu, BTG-Homeinn, Sabre, Carlson Wagonlit Travel China, Wyndham Hotel Group, Utour and CAISSA Travel presenting themselves in the fully booked Job Area. The morning sessions in Conference Room A are dealing with in-depth content sessions about Education organized in partnership with globally renowned educational institutions, focusing on topics of tourism education and executive training. This year’s honored partners of the Education Day are the Fudan University Shanghai, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI). More than 120 renowned experts from the Chinese and international travel industry will impart their knowledge at the second ITB China Conference, taking place from 16 to 18 May 2018 in Shanghai.

All Tourism management students will have the possibility to access ITB China at this day for free. Jobseekers will be able to see all job offers on a Job Wall and can make immediate contact with HR managers and apply for jobs directly at the show. Newcomers can gain an overview of University degree courses and Executive Education courses in tourism and will receive tips on how to find work. Applicants can elevator-pitch to potential employers from leading companies for their dream job at ITB China 2018. Employers, too, will have the chance to presenting themselves in a pitch on stage.

The morning session will include the keynote speech presented by Mr. Yunlong Sun, Project Director of MTA Program at Fudan University, on “Flexibility and constancy in the cultivation of tourism professional”, while Mr. Mo Zhang, Project Director, QIJIAN Tourism Planning and Design, will share his ideas on “Straight A at the office, CEO in ivory tower”, followed by a panel discussion on “Career development and cultivation of cultural personality” with Ms. Li Han, SVP, Utour Group; Mr. Navy Wang, Founder & CEO, Atour; Tao Jin, Vice President, Shanghai Shendi Institute and Ms. Laurie Cheng, Director of Human Resources, The Peninsula Shanghai.

Professor Cathy Hsu, Chair Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Marketing, School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, will share insights in her keynote speech on “The Current And Future Of Tourism Education”. Afterwards, she will be hosting a panel discussion on “The Current And Future Of Tourism Education” debating with the following panelists: Dr Fuhua Song, Jason, Founder and Chairman, Zhejiang Drore Technology Co., Ltd.; Dr Shanshan Lin, Vera, Associate Professor, Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, School of Management, Zhejiang University and Dr. James Mabey, Chief Operating Officer, Antaeus Group (Hospitality and Real Estate).

Starting at 10 a.m. the HSMAI session will kick-off in the Presentation Hub with a welcome keynote by Ms. Huilian Duan, Vice President Sales & Marketing, APAC, Maritim Hotels, while Ms. Christine Liu, Country Manager, China, STR will share her insights on “China Hotel Market Overview”. Following Mr. Charles Wang, Assistant Vice President, China, IDeaS will introduce the “Next Generation of Revenue Management” to the audience. Afterwards Ms. Christine Liu will be hosting a panel discussion on the “Distribution in the Hotel Industry”.  Mr. Ray Wang, Deputy General Manager, Alibaba Fliggy-Hotel Business is giving a keynote-speech on the “Introduction to HSMAI Academy and the Certificate in Revenue Management (Hospitality)” while Ms. Jackie Douglas, President, HSMAI Asia Pacific and Ms. Tracy Dong, Lead Advisor, IDeaS are conducting an interactive training workshop based on the Rooms Forecasting Course.
