On April 19, Ctrip launched the platform Hydrogen Balloon to edge into the import and export of online travel content.
Wen Li, COO of Ctrip’s Travel Diary Department, said: "Ctrip has independently developed this brand from start to finish. As a new product aimed at user-generated content, Hydrogen Balloon will be connected to all of Ctrip's products and platforms.”
Hydrogen Balloon is a comprehensive platform for both content generation and content distribution. It aggregates and processes travel tips and local experiences, which are produced by traditional official channels, self-media as well as KOLs and savvy travelers. It also distributes structured content onto travel and lifestyle communities including Qunar, Tongcheng, and eLong.
The platform can be a realizable asset once it has accumulated a sufficient amount of content.
