Gordon Wilson chosen as CEO and President of Galileo/Worldspan

Travelport Limited, the parent company of the Travelport group of businesses, has announced that, effective upon the consummation of the transaction, Gordon Wilson would be named CEO and President of the combined Galileo/Worldspan organisation. (4/19/2007)

Wilson will report to Jeff Clarke, CEO and President, Travelport.

On the opportunity to build upon the complementary strengths of two companies, Wilson said, “Our new organisation will be a truly global aggregator of travel content and provider of travel solutions. We will be focused on enabling our supplier customers to create real value in distributing their products in the way they desire and enabling our agency customers to bring informed and independent choice to consumers.”

Wilson, 40, has been with Galileo since 1991, serving as CEO and president, Galileo, since January 2007 and is based in London.

He is responsible for all of Galileo’s global activities, including delivering content, reservations technology and services to travel agents, travel suppliers, tour operators, travel management companies and corporations. In addition to the Galileo GDS, Wilson oversees aiRes, the hosting technology solution for next-generation airlines, and Shepherd Systems, a market intelligence provider. During his career at Galileo, he has held a number of senior roles based in the USA, Europe and Africa.
