Hotel company SunMei announced that it has raised RMB 140 million in B round. The company was established in 2009 and was formerly known as Thank Inn.

Qingdao-based hotelier SunMei announced on December 27 that the company has raised RMB 140 million in its series B round financing. The round had China Merchant Bank's subsidiary CMB International as lead investor and was participated by Angel Plus.

SunMei, formerly named Thank Inn, was inaugurated in 2009. The company changed its name to SunMei recently. SunMei currently owns more than 1,800 hotels in 685 Chinese cities, ranging from budget hotels to mid-ranged and upscale properties under eight lodging brands.

SunMei recently launched its AA Club hotel chain platform. The online platform aims to provide individual hotels and inns with unified brand identity, loyalty program and amenity standards, ensuring that travelers can have a consistent guest experience that hotel chains offer.
