Blackstone acquires Hilton

Hilton Hotels Corporation has entered into a definitive merger agreement with The Blackstone Group’s real estate and corporate private equity funds in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $26 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, Blackstone will acquire all the outstanding common stock of Hilton for $47.50 per share. The price represents a premium of 40% over yesterday’s closing stock price.

Aug. 10, 2007--Hilton Hotels Corporation (NYSE:HLT) today announced the recent completion of the sale of the Caledonian Hilton hotel to The Caledonian Operating Company Ltd UK for the cash sum of GBP 51.7 million (approximately $105.4 million).

AUGUST 7 2007. The reservation received by the Hilton Garden Inn in San Mateo, CA from Hilton's CRS, OnQ, was unlike any before. It originated in a Chinese travel agency and was the first reservation coming from an Asian travel agency to a Hilton property using China's largest hotel switch to which OnQ recently connected.
