Outdoor sports platform Lis99 receives US$1.5 million angel investment
Mobile online platform for outdoor sports Lis99 has received an angel investment of almost RMB10 million to develop products and market operations in April.
Mobile online platform for outdoor sports Lis99 has built up a community of one million users and is listing 1,000 outdoor sports clubs and in partnership with outdoor sports venues all over China, after receiving an angel investment of almost RMB10 million (approx: US$1.57 million) to develop products and market operations in April this year, according to its cofounder Jie Shi.

Before starting Lis99, Mr. Shi was a partner at gourmet social platform Douguo and was involved with its marketing campaign that grew its users to 100 million. He has a wealth of experience in social networking and online mobile in the gourmet segment.
His partner and cofounder Yong Gao is a leading figure in China’s outdoor media and the founder of the popular magazine Outdoor, and he has spent 15 years cultivating a platform in the outdoor sports segment.
Mr. Shi said: “Mr. Gao is an old friend of mine. As we each specialize in the online or the offline field, we complement each other and make the perfect team to succeed in the outdoor sports segment.”
Lis99 seeks to solve users’ basic issues of where to go, what to bring and with whom to go by creating a vertical social community for outdoor activities such as camping, cross-country and skiing. Users can find the outdoor clubs they like and join up with like-minded enthusiasts on the plaform.
“We are also providing outdoor sports clubs with a mobile platform to promote their activities and then complete a whole series of fragmented operations, from registration to participation. All our platform’s club leaders are loyal users who add content and share valuable information on our site,”Mr. Shi said:
Lis99 is now planning to launch a Series A financing round. Mr. Shi said it will continue to improve its products and venues, standardize operations, form alliances within and become a trailblazer for the outdoor sports segment.(Translation by David)
