The deal was signed by various Chinese government departments and companies with US aircraft maker Boeing in a Sino-US civil aviation industry partnership signing ceremony in Seattle USA.
The MoU for advancing long-term strategic cooperation, signed by the National Development and Reform Commission and Boeing, set the goals and framework for bilateral cooperation for the next five years.
The two sides will step up industrial cooperation and production scale, jointly develop sustainable aviation technologies, carry out leadership training for the next generation of leaders in China’s aviation industry, and continue the development of a world-class aviation transportation system.
The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China and Boeing have also signed an agreement to set up a joint venture assembly plant for Boeing 737 aircraft. It marks the first time Boeing will take part of its assembly line overseas and will spur related industrial development in China as well as boost the status of Boeing’s Chinese suppliers in the global industry.
An agreement to purchase 300 Boeing aircraft was also signed between China Aviation Supplies Holding Company, BOC Aviation, CBD Leasing and Boeing to meet the massive potential and the long-term demand of China’s rapidly expanding aviation market .
