Wyndham spearheads ambitious China expansion

Travel Daily – Wyndham Hotel Group maintains momentum with its Asia expansion, adding 171 new properties to its regional portfolio and 160 newly signed hotels by the end of Q3, the group announced at its “2014 Wyndham Hotels Group Asia-Pacific Summit”.
The new additions expanded its Asia Pacific portfolio to 908 hotels, with a total room inventory of 104,963 in 16 countries. China is still its key market in the region, with 163 hotels added this year, enlarging its China network to 819 hotels with 92,349 rooms.
The group also held a signing ceremony at the summit for 39 new hotels, including eight Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, 11 Ramada Inns, nine Howard Johnsons, five Days Inns, and six Super 8 Motels.
Wyndham Hotel Group is also accelerating the introduction of their brands to China, bringing the mid-range Ramada Encore brand to China with the opening of Shanghai Ramada Encore in 2014. TRYP hotels and Planet Hollywood will also be brought in to diversify its portfolio and meet the demand for personalized accommodation.
TRYP hotels, developed with the branding concept “Embrace Your City”, and will be in central urban locations, while the high-end Planet Hollywood brand will be opened in major cities and resorts areas. (Translation by David)
