According to a report by Agoda Insights, a substantial rise appeared in searches for Thailand among Chinese travelers since the implementation of the visa waiver policy. Especially post-pandemic, more Chinese tourists are exploring Thailand as a travel destination.
Not only have accommodation searches from Chinese traveling to Thailand increased since the introduction of visa-free travel for Chinese tourists, but also in addition the first month of the year saw five times more Thais search for accommodation in Mainland China compared to January 2023.
Overall, the implementation of the visa waiver policy between Thailand and China has had a positive impact on tourism exchanges between the two countries, injecting new vitality into the recovery and development of Thailand's tourism industry.
