Malaysia to implement 30-day visa-free policy for visitors from China, India

The new policy follows China's recent decision to grant a 15-day visa-free entry to Malaysian travelers.

Visitors to Malaysia from China and India will be granted 30-day visa-free entry from 1 December under a plan announced by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

The new visa policy, which follows the Chinese Embassy recently revealing that Malaysia visitors to China would be granted 15-day visa-free entry for the next 12 months from 1 December, is aimed at boosting Chinese visitation which has been slower than many other source tourism markets to recover.

It also happens to coincide with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, with the prime minister noting the potential of the Chinese tourist market “is huge”.
