Dolphin Dynamics adds accommodation GTA content to TravelScanner booking engine platform
Dolphin Dynamics has added Gullivers Travel Associates (GTA)/Octopus Travel accommodation content to its TravelScanner point of sale and booking engine product. (3/16/2007)
Dolphin Dynamics, a provider of specialist software to the travel industry, shared that by accessing GTA content, the company will be able to provide clients with a vast inventory of accommodation products, from budget to five-star, across a wide range of destinations. Over 16 million bed nights in 23,000 hotels and apartments are booked through GTA, and its consumer-facing subsidiary Octopus Travel, every year.

TravelScanner allows travel consultants to easily search, compare and sell, from a single browser-based application, a wide range of products including flights (GDS, published and net fares, low cost carriers and charter), car hire and insurance. Using “shopping basket” functionality, all products can be sold separately or dynamically packaged together for an individual customer. The addition of GTA’s hotel accommodation will substantially enhance the range of bookable travel content available to users of the application.
A direct XML connection enables tight integration with the GTA reservation system, providing a fully automated booking process with real-time availability and rich content, including detailed hotel reports as well as images.
According to the company, TravelScanner itself integrates seamlessly with the Dolphin Travel Manager system. The combined solution provides a single integrated multi-channel platform, managing front, mid and back office for any type of travel agency operation including shops, call centres, home workers and on-line.
