Sabre Corporation announced two new key appointments in its China and North Asia team to meet growing interest in Sabre’s innovative technology in the region.
Tom Feng joins Sabre as the regional director for China, responsible for leading the Airline Solutions business, and growing and maintaining successful and trusted relationships with carriers across the region.
Based in Beijing, Feng was most recently at HP/EDS and Teradata, where he led sales and business development within the travel and transport sector in China. He brings significant technology experience and expertise, and an eye for helping customers generate business value and new revenue from technology solutions.
Sabre also appointed Sue Carter as Sabre’s new regional director for North Asia. Based in Hong Kong, Carter will be responsible for driving sales and account management for the Airline Solutions business in Japan, Korea, Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong markets.
Like Feng, she is a technology industry veteran having held a number of senior sales and business development roles with technology companies. She spent seven years at Unisys, where she led its Asia Pacific travel and transport business, successfully growing business with airlines and the travel sector in China and North Asia.

The appointments support and highlight Sabre’s focus on the Asia-Pacific region, where it recently announced an agreement to acquire Abacus, a leading global distribution system in Asia-Pacific.

Our investments in our Airline Solutions business in Asia will also bring great synergy to our pending acquisition of Abacus, and will strengthen our ability to service Asia-based customers,” said Kuksenko.
On May 14, 2015, Sabre announced it had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire leading Asia-Pacific GDS- Abacus International. Abacus is owned by a consortium of 11 Asian airlines along with Sabre, which has a 35% stake in the company and will purchase the remaining portion of Abacus for $411 million.
