China sees a 78% year-on-year rise in Q3 international air travel

Since the beginning of this year, China's civil aviation industry has demonstrated steady and consistent progress.

In the third quarter, the industry handled 200 million passengers, a 12.3% year-on-year increase, and a 15.2% rise compared to the same period in 2019.

Domestic routes transported 180 million passengers, marking an 8.3% increase, while international routes reached 18.226 million, showing a robust 78.0% year-on-year surge.

During the peak summer travel season, passenger volume surpassed 70 million in a month.

Since July, international air travel by Chinese airlines has maintained over 90% of the 2019 levels for three consecutive months.
