The 2016 Star-rated Hotels Statistical Bulletin recently published by China National Tourism Administration included operating data submitted by 11,289 hotels, equivalent to 96.61% of the 11,685 star-rated hotels registered in the statistical management system as of the end of 2016.

In 2016, China’s star-rated hotels generated RMB 202. 726 billion operating income and RMB 471 million total profit. Room and catering accounted for 44.79% and 41.30% of the total revenue.
