India has officially started providing E-Travel Visas to Chinese nationals.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks at Tsinghua University
India's embassy in China announced the news on Thursday, saying the e-visa can offer convenience for Chinese people willing to travel, visit or doing business in India.
An E-visa is actually an online visa applying service, allowing travelers to avoid the interview at the Consular Office.
Instead, they can only fill in forms, pay the bill online, and wait for approval.
The service was initiated when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited China in May.
This year features a campaign called "Visit India Year" in China and a similar one called "Visit China Year" will be held in India next year.
Tourism officials from the two countries are hoping that the number of China-India mutual visits will exceed 1 million in 2016.
