Significant jump in profile and expectation ahead for hotel technology startup Snapshot Travel after securing a Euro 25 million investment round.

The company first appeared on the scene in 2013 (TLabs here) with a hotel guest demand management tool, but the new funding is hoped will push the company into new markets and see the launch of a new range of analytics tools.

Shiji Technologies, a fellow hotel software provider based in China, has opted to return to back Snapshot a second time after it and STR Global handed the company an early seed round to the tune of Euro 1 million in late-2013.

Snapshot is planning to unveil a major new analytics tool for hoteliers in 2016.

Managing director and chief technology officer, Michael Heinze, who is also a founder alongside David Turnbull, says:

“With this funding we have the resources to build the perfect platform for hotels wanting to leverage big data and gain deeper insight into their hotel’s demand.

“We want to empower hotels with the tools they need to make better data driven decisions.”

Shiji has credited Snapshot with helping it expand quickly in China after incorporating the product into its portfolio.

One of its marquee customers is the new Alitrip Travel product from ecommerce giant Alibaba.

STR Global, Shiji and CitizenM Hotels have board positions at Snapshot.
