Tourico Holidays appoints new vice president in Asia Pacific

Tourico Holidays, a global leader in wholesale travel brokerage, announced that its newest Vice President of Sales and Product has taken over the Asia-Pacific region.

Orlando, 30 June 2015 – Tourico Holidays’ newest Vice President of Sales and Product has taken over the Asia-Pacific region! Franz Nitz boasts more than 15 years of experience in the tourism industry, and has always been keenly interested in Asian culture and society. He has spent half his career in APAC countries, where he has been able to monitor regional tourism growth from early on. Franz is originally from the Austrian tourist region of Tirol, where his family has been working in the hotel industry for three generations.

Franz previously worked for Agoda, where he was responsible for the strategic development of partnerships with key sales customers in Asia as the Director of Partner Development. Franz successfully established a sales network throughout the region, transforming Agoda from an unknown company into the leading online hotel booking platform in the Asia-Pacific region.

As the new Vice President of Sales and Product at Tourico Holidays, Franz will be able to oversee the departments’ efforts in APAC countries. He aims to expand existing customer partnerships and introduce new products, as well as develop the new product pipeline. The objective is to restructure business in the Asia-Pacific region from the ground up, as well as improve existing procedures. Franz’ primary goal is to look for strategic opportunities and invest more in human resources, products and technology.

With the addition of Franz, Tourico Holidays aims to become a leader in the APAC region by creating a business model in which all sides win. Tourico Holidays’ exclusive contracts with key clients such as Emirates, Lufthansa, and American Airlines, suppliers will have the chance to enter new markets and gain new customers; while increasing the number of Tourico’s trademark ExclusiveDeals across the region allow clients the most competitive rates in the emerging market.

Tourico Holidays is currently increasing its activities in the APAC countries, with plans to open a new office in Shanghai this July, as well as increasing team presence in Beijing and Bangkok. "Right now APAC is mainly driving business to non APAC countries,' states the new Vice President of APAC Sales and Product, "Our long term goal is to change that. The secret to win in Asia is to adjust and do start to ‘think Asian’. Localization and having the right people on the ground will be the key."
