E-Daijia is a mobile app platform that offers chauffeur service. It officially announced that it received US$ 25 million in capital in its new round of financing. 58.com led this round of financing by investing US$ 20 million and previous investors Matrix Partners China and Lightspeed Venture Partners also participated in this founding. 58.com is a NASDAQ-listed company that operates the largest online marketplace serving local merchants and consumers in China,
According to their investment agreement E-Daijia will issue 7.8% of its regular shares to 58.com. After the transaction 58.com will not have a seat of the board of directors at E-Daijia but it will be able to appoint a board observer.
58.com has agreed to no longer engage in chauffeur services and will merge its operations with E-Daijia. Jiajun Yang CEO of E-Daijia says, “After three years of careful market cultivation E-Daijia has gained abundant operational experience and the company’s service has earned a great word-of mouth reputation. On the other hand, 58.com has a huge user group and tremendous brand power. So this link-up between our two companies will bring better quality chauffer service to customers in the future”.
E-Daijia mobile app chauffeur service is a fast and convenient way for customers to find and contact chauffeurs near them. All E-Daijia chauffeurs are required to have at least five years of driving experience as well go through the company’s systematic evaluation process which involves passing an interview, written test, training, road test, and trial period. Currently E-Daijia offers services in 100 cities in China including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen and has almost 40 thousand chauffeurs. (Translation by David)
