According to a statement the deal will extend Airbnb’s reach across the region while hundreds of thousands of properties from the peer-to-peer marketplace are now available for booking via Ostrovok.
Airbnb head of global operations Varsha Rao says the company is already seeing “significant growth in Russia and the surrounding area.”
Ostrovok claims it now offers the biggest choice of accommodation in the world with 900,000 options. The company says the partnership was data driven based on the desire to stay in apartments for longer stays.
