Washington, DC, December 10, 2013—The Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association (HEDNA) announced today the signing of a Memo of Understanding (MOU) with China TravelDaily Co. Ltd. (CTD), solidifying their common objectives and shared commitment to promote electronic distribution through collaboration and knowledge sharing in China and around the world.

The MOU was signed by HEDNA President Rajesh Vohra (Sarova Hotels) and Charlie Li, CEO of China TravelDaily.

This new relationship fits well with HEDNA’s efforts to create an environment that fosters strategic collaboration toward business development in the global hospitality industry. “HEDNA is an international organization with 144 members in 21 countries,” explained Vohra, “but we have limited exposure within the exploding travel market in China.  Collaborating with China TravelDaily will give us a strong presence and much-needed partner in the region and allow us to raise our industry’s profile in China.  It will also allow us to better promote the exceptional work being done by CTD in online publishing and event organization in the travel and tourism field.”

China TravelDaily’s Charlie Li expressed similar views.  “Our partnership with HEDNA is crucial for China TravelDaily which is committed to building brand awareness in the global hospitality industry”, said Li.

China became the world's largest tourism source market in 2012 with over 87 million Chinese traveling overseas.  A forecast by the World Tourism Organization anticipates that the number of hotel rooms in China will reach 6.1 million by 2025, exceeding the US to become the largest hospitality market in the world.

“As China’s leading online publication for the travel and tourism industry,” Li said, “we believe this partnership will foster knowledge sharing and collaboration between Chinese hotel professionals and the global hospitality community as we benefit from HEDNA’s leading position in the hotel electronic distribution space.”

HEDNA will introduce China TravelDaily to attendees at its semi-annual conference in New Orleans in January 2014 and showcase the important work being done by the two organizations, and China TravelDaily has invited HEDNA to participate on a panel at its hotel-focused conference in May 2014.
