Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Venture Republic, a company which was co-founded by Kei Shibata in 2001, runs metasearch brand Travel.jp, hotel review service Hotel.jp and Coneco.net, a comparison shopping portal.
Shibata says both the company’s dedicated travel services – Travel.jp and Hotel.jp – will continue to operate independently and by the existing teams.
