Google Maps unveiled Indoor Maps on July 3. So far they’re available on Android devices at 40 UK venues.

Expect to see folk with their heads down following their mobile device around a museum, train station or event venue in the coming weeks and months as Google Maps unveiled Indoor Maps yesterday.

So far they’re available on Android devices at 40 UK venues (mostly in and around London) including Wembley, the O2, Selfridges and seven airports, although London Luton is claiming a first in the airport stakes.

The technology includes a ‘where am I?’ feature as well as showing what’s around and providing directions.
