If last week’s data revealing the majority of smartphone users are now using their phones to access travel content wasn’t enough, stats from Priceline illustrate how different products are affected.
The US-based online travel agency says it is seeing mobile travel “going mainstream” as the wider population – rather than so-called early adopters – purchase smartphones and dive in to the world of handset search and booking of products.
For example, around one in four renters of cars via the Priceline app on Apple devices are doing so on the same day as they wish to pick up the vehicle.
