The most popular ideas from the second round of the Ideas for Travel competition run by Amadeusare named this week, with destination “angels” for travellers, a single and multi-modal distribution system and universal traveller profile.
The initiative was launched in December 2010 and created to give individuals or organisations around thetravel, tourism and hospitality industry the opportunity to form and develop projects from as diverse as impriving the way people travel to how they search and buy travel goods.
Each month Tnooz will highlight the entries with the most votes so far as well picking its own favourite. A Blue Ribbon panel of judges will convene in May 2011 to select an overall winner.
Entries with the most votes:
- Stefano Consiglio submits a service which is already in its infancy, allowing travellers to tap into a community of local people in a destination to help plan a trip. A free service, Angels matches site visitors to relevant people in-resort, giving them relevant advice and providing services to the community.
Single transportation solution
- A fully integrated, muilti-modal transport distribution system is proposed by Bradut Florescu. In it simplest form, all types of travel (air, ship, rail, bus, etc) should be included in a single system so that point-to-point bookings can me made on a single ticket and through a single sales channel.
