Hotels.com is being touted as the first travel brand to use a system on US web television which allows users to select the advertising they would like to see.
The Expedia-owned hotel booking site is part of a commercial service on the Comcast broadband network given the grand name of “telescoping technology”.
Users of the Comcast system see links to a travel and leisure section within the menus. Faced with options for different products-on-demand, users who select accommodation can then select from one of a number of cities including Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles or San Francisco.
