Friday, 6 March 2009: Aggressively extending their network in the last quarter as well as adding new aircraft into their fleet, AirAsia’s expansionist policies saw them take a hit in net profits, but may eventuate into better figures this year.
This brash approach cannot be further away from the steady approach the Malaysia Airlines has elected to take, with the flag carrier cutting capacity and costs where it can, says the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) in a recent study.
