Published: 26 Jan 2009: BBC.com has launched a travel module featuring information from the Lonely Planet website.

It will provide a gateway to the site for BBC.com´s 26m users around the globe (ex-UK).

The BBC.com travel module will appear on the BBC.com homepage for users outside the UK and will provide access to the destination pages from the Lonely Planet website and a picture gallery which will provide inspiration on places to travel.

Also available on the module is a ´latest from Lonely Planet´ section which will display three editorially selected stories from the Lonely Planet website. Users will also be able to click through to the Lonely Planet site to discover a range of content and tools to plan, book and share travel experiences.

The tool will enable users across the globe to access the huge amount of travel information, advice and inspiration which is available on the Lonely Planet website, said Kym Niblock, MD BBC.com, BBC Worldwide.

Advertising on the travel module is being handled by BBC.com sales representatives in local sales offices.
