Published: 01 Apr 2008: easyJet has successfully completed the operational integration of GB Airways, with the enlarged airline being first major in Europe to operate under the new European operating certificates.
All 15 of the GB Airways aircraft have been successfully transitioned onto easyJet´s new EU-Ops Air Operators Certificate – a process that involved more than 100 people at Gatwick and Manchester airports in removing all British Airways branding and flight operating materials from the aircraft and replacing them with those of easyJet.
From 16 July 2008 most European commercial airlines will be required to operate under the newly-harmonised European technical requirements and administrative procedures for civil aviation, commonly referred to as EU-Ops.
