HOTELS recently released the annual ranking of the world’s biggest hotel companies. While there were other notable high flyers, what did not change is the top of the ranking, led by Marriott International. Hilton broke the 1 million room count and what also remains noticeable is the growing number of Chinese hotel companies climbing the ranking.
“As has been the case for the last 10 years, China-based companies continue to work their way up the charts and we keep uncovering new additions from the Sleeping Giant,” said Jeff Weinstein, HOTELS’s editor in chief.
Marriott has been the top, followed by China’s Jin Jiang and Hilton. Thirteen Chinese hotel groups are listed among the Top 50. Except for Jin Jiang, other Chinese hotel groups include Huazhu, BTG Homeinns, GreenTree, Dossen, Sunmei, New Century, Narada, Funyard, Shangri-La, HK CTS Hotels, Zhuyou and Jinling.
