Dutch tour and activity brand Withlocals has doubled its investment capital so far following news of an $8 million raise this week.
The Series B round was led by Keen Venture Partners and also saw participation from previous backer Inkef Capital.
The latest round will be used to support a number of initiatives, CEO Matthijs Keij says, with the ambitious goal of being "the global leader in personalized travel."
The total raised by the company now stands at just under $16 million.
It's most recent round was a $4.3 million investment in late-2017 from Inkef, coming five months after Keij joined as CEO from Mapp Digital.
Four pillars of growth have been cited by Keij, including providing what he calls end-to-end localization and strengthening its community of hosts around the world.
Withlocals is looking to expand beyond its current 30-city portfolio in Europe and Asia.
