China's air transport industry realized a gross operating revenue of 875 billion yuan (USD 128.4 billion) in 2018, a 17% year-on-year increase, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China on Thursday.
In 2018, the air transport industry of China completed the fixed asset investment of 81 billion yuan (USD 11.9 billion).
By the end of 2018, China had a total of 235 civil transport airports, among which nine were newly built or relocated that very year.
According to the forecast of the International Air Transport Association, China is expected to become the world's largest civil aviation market between 2024 and 2025.
