By linking their Expedia accounts to the Action, the online travel agency’s customers can now use voice commands to browse and book hotels, cancel hotel reservations, access trip itineraries, check their Expedia Rewards points and more.

Expedia is expanding its voice technology integrations with a new “Expedia Action” on Google Assistant.

By linking their Expedia accounts to the Action, the online travel agency’s customers can now use voice commands to browse and book hotels, cancel hotel reservations, access trip itineraries, check their Expedia Rewards points and more.

Expedia has had a skill for Amazon Alexa since November 2016, but it does not offer hotel booking capabilities.

In a statement, the company says, “In this hyper competitive industry, it’s critical for travel companies, like Expedia, to innovate and offer customers more personalized and easier ways to plan and book travel on emerging platforms - and allow our partners to reach customers with the technologies they are using today.”

The Expedia Action is available in English on any device that supports Google Assistant.
