Marriott International will hold a “Tmall Super Brand Day” this Saturday, using the one-day sales blitz to offer special discounts on hotel stays and travel packages both in and outside of China, the U.S. hospitality giant said.
Marriott International is the first company in the hospitality industry to implement a Super Brand Day promotion, where Tmall offers top placement on its homepage and targeted marketing campaigns for brands to reach greater numbers of consumers on the Alibaba Group-owned B2C shopping site.
In addition to activity on Tmall, visitors to Marriott’s storefront on Fliggy, Alibaba’s online travel platform, will find special promotions and a chance to win lucky draw prizes. Members of Marriott International loyalty program who book their stay at select Asia Pacific properties can even enjoy a discount of up to 10%, the company said.
As part of its Super Brand Day, Marriott International is introducing an exclusive, limited-time-only “Black Cards” that allow cardholders to enjoy hotel packages at five destinations, including Thailand, Japan, Maldives, United Kingdom and the U.S., across five of Marriott’s luxury brands—W Hotels, the Luxury Collection, the Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis and Edition.
