Chinese ride-hailing powerhouse Didi Chuxing is considering a tie-up with smartphone maker Apple on research into self-driving technology, using the massive amount of traffic data the company has collected in China while building a whopping 90% market share, according to a Nikkei report.
Didi announced its acquisition of Uber's Chinese operations in August 2016. The Chinese chauffeured service platform received USD 1 billion from Apple in May 2016.
